Opponents of the 2023 New York Jets, take notice: Aaron Rodgers can indeed be rattled.
The quarterback was bested via card trick by mentalist Oz Pearlman, who joined Gang Green for a team meeting that will be shown on Episode 2 of “Hard Knocks,” this Tuesday night on HBO.
Pearlman asked Rodgers to rifle through a deck of cards and pick one and then cover them up with his hands.
“Think red, black,” he said. “Think hearts, diamond, club, spades.”
It was enough to get Rodgers to give up at least some of the game.
“See that reaction? That flinch!” Pearlman announced. “I know which way you’re throwing the ball. It’s a diamond, am I right?”
The QB affirmed it — though his lesson was far from over.
“I’m going to do you one better than guess it. I’m going to find it,” Pearlman announced, reaching over to Rodgers and holding his gaze while pulling a card out of his hands.
Rodgers told the room that he had picked the three of diamonds as the mentalist turned the card around to show the room to “oohs” and “ahhs.”
The trick wasn’t over though.
Safeties coach Marquand Manuel shared with the room he had picked a goldfish when asked to think of an animal earlier with Rodgers opening his hands to reveal — you guessed it — a goldfish.
Rodgers was left befuddled as the hooting and hollering around him amped up.
It wasn’t the only trick the Jets pulled off this week, with the team signing free-agent running back Dalvin Cook to a one-year deal.
Whether Pearlman or Rodgers had anything to do with that magic will be revealed at 10 p.m. ET on HBO when Episode 2 of “Hard Knock” airs.
